Contemporary Swedish theatre in the shadow of #Metoo and the Corona pandemic

Sweden have been known as a society striving for equality and democracy. Theatre directors has been navigating between identity policy and high, independent artistic quality. Could theatre still be relevant if it has to act in line with what is politically correct? And what happened in 2017 where 497 actresses witnessed about sexual harassment in Swedish theatre and film. This was followed by the pandemic that resulted in the theatres was closed or restricted to allow eight in the audience. Rikard Hoogland will in this lecture take up examples how it has been possible to navigate in this turbulent landscape and still make important works of art.
